G. Nicholas and Sara Ifft Communication Lab
About the Lab
The Communication Lab in the Department of Communication, Media, and Persuasion at Idaho State University was made possible through a gift in excess of $490,000 from G. Nicholas and Sara Ifft. Ifft was president and general manager of the Idaho State Journal from 1965 to 1984.
The CommLab is a spacious and state of the art facility in room 321 of Frasier Hall. Because of the Ifft’s generosity, ISU now has this facility with fourteen computer stations, study areas, a group meeting room, two presentation rooms with video recording and PowerPoint technology, and a tutorial instruction area. Ifft said, "It is a privilege to help Idaho State University because the university has played such a major role in the development of Southeast Idaho and the state of Idaho" (Idaho State Journal, 3/7/99, A1).
