The College of Arts & Letters is the largest and most comprehensive college at Idaho State University. The scope of our work is broad, including the fine and performing arts, humanities, social and behavioral sciences.
The Arts & Letters disciplines form the core of the university and support ISU's general education program and extensive professional programs. We are dedicated to the discovery and integration of knowledge, and our work reflects the diversity and creativity of the human experience.
ISU bands and choirs have performed on four continents, and foreign choirs from five continents have performed on campus as part of the biennial Idaho International Choral Festival.
ISU Debaters are consistently ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation.
Kate Reedy-Maschner (Anthropology and History) has recently been appointed to the Scientific and Statistical Committee of the North Pacific Fisheries Management Council.
Michele Brumley (Psychology) received a $165,000 grant from the National Institute of Health to study the neuorobehavioral development of motor behavior in rats.
Jessica Winston (English and Philosophy) was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship to support her book project, "Lawyers at Play: Literary and Political Culture of the Inns of Court, 1558-1572."
