English Professor Jessica Winston receives award from the National Endowment for the Humanities

Jessica Winston has been awarded a $50,400 fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities for the 2011-12 year. The NEH received over 1400 fellowship applications and awarded ninety-nine, a funding rate of 7%. The NEH fellowships fund full-time research and will allow Winston to complete her book, "Lawyers at Play: Literary and Political Culture of the Inns of Court in the 1560s." (read more...)

Anthropology and History Professor Katherine Reedy-Maschner appointed to the Scientific and Statistical Committee of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council

Dr. Katherine Reedy-Maschner, Associate Professor of Anthropology and History, was recently appointed to the Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council (NPFMC). The SSC is composed of fisheries biologists, economists, marine ecologists, population statisticians, and social scientists who review scientific and technical aspects of policy changes involving stock assessments, catch limits, and overfishing levels.
