From February 26 – 28, 2014, the International Affairs Council (IAC) will be hosting the annual Frank Church Symposium on International Affairs.
The symposium has grown over the years to become one of the most popular intellectual gatherings in the region.
We are inviting delegates to come and address “The State of Human Rights in the Global Community” from a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary perspective.
It is our hope that the 2014 Annual Frank Church Symposium will critically address diverse forms of human rights issues on both local and global levels.
The event will highlight the role of scholars, activists, students, politicians, and others in historic and contemporary human rights movements worldwide.
Whether it be lessons emanating from the rise of the Arab Spring, or the twists and turns of democratization movements around the world; the persecution of minorities, handicapped persons, colored peoples, the alienated and marginalized groups.
Our goal is to define the problems, address their sources, and with wisdom and epiphany, talk about practical solutions.
The IAC proudly invites academics, practitioners, political leaders, government agencies, students and other interest groups to submit their CVs/resumes, titles, and abstracts describing a potential topic of presentation and discussion at the symposium.
Panels are also welcome.
Please send all application materials and questions by email to: iac@isu.edu
Members of IAC, those who wish to join us, and members of the community are invited to meet every Wednesday in the Snake River Room on Campus in the Student Union Building from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm.
IAC proudly offers to ISU students 'International Symposium' as a one-credit class (IS 350-01) both Fall and Spring semesters.
