Come join us for a fun evening of illuminating science demonstrations as part of the 2013 joint annual conference of the Idaho Science Teachers Association, the Idaho Council of Teachers of Math, and the Idaho Science, Math, and Technology. Dr. Steve Shropshire of Idaho State University will be presenting a science demonstration show titled “Lasers, Light, and Illusions" free of charge and open to the public on Friday, October 4, at 7:45 p.m. in the auditorium at Century High School in Pocatello. The show will feature multi-colored lasers, light pipes, color mixing, amazing illusions, and many other demonstrations, finishing with a laser light show set to music. Everyone attending will be given a pair of “laser rainbow” glasses to keep. All ages are welcome. There will be some loud noises, which may be startling to small children. The demonstration show is funded by SPIE, the international optics society, and Idaho State University. Please feel free to contact Dr. Steve Shropshire at shrostev@isu.edu or 208-282-2212 for more information on the presentation.
