What the heck is Moodle?
Moodle is a learning management system (LMS) selected to help faculty distribute content, create assessment activities, and communicate with students online. Moodle will replace the WebCT LMS environment in the summer of 2008.
If I’m using WebCT this spring semester, can I use it in this summer semester (2008)?
No, WebCT will no longer be available after the spring semester of 2008 for course offerings. Faculty will have access to WebCT until June 30th, but not for course offerings.
I have courses still on the WebCT server, but I want to use the WebCT resources in my Moodle course, what should I do?
You can make a request to have your WebCT course materials moved to the Moodle server by filling out a request form at http://www.isu.edu/itrc/moodle
Can I get help moving materials from WebCT to Moodle?
Yes, the ITRC staff will help you migrate your materials from WebCT and will help you organize your new Moodle course environment. Email the ITRC at itrc@isu.edu
When is the last day I will have access to WebCT?
As a reminder, after June 30th of 2008 faculty will no longer have access to WebCT.
How do I gain access to my courses in Moodle?
Courses are automatically created each semester. If you are listed as the instructor of the course you will have access to the course automatically. If you do not, you may be added to the course by filling out the request form at http://www.isu.edu/itrc/moodle
How do I request a single Moodle course for multiple sections?
If you would like to have one single course for multiple sections, please request multi section course (also known as a meta course) by filling out the request form at http://www.isu.edu/itrc/moodle
Where do I find support and training resources for Moodle?
Moodle support and training resources are located on the Moodle ISU website (http://elearning.isu.edu) and on the ITRC website (http://www.isu.edu/itrc/moodle)
How do I request a course for a semester not listed on my Moodle page?
You may request courses for a new semester offering not listed on the Moodle site by filling out the request form at http://www.isu.edu/itrc/moodle
How do my students gain access to my Moodle course?
Students will login using their email username and password. Faculty will need to make the course visible to the students in the Moodle Administrative settings of the course at the beginning of each semester.
