Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll Specialist with Chobani Idaho, Twin Falls, Idaho.
I work closely with the HR team on all aspects of setting up new hires as well as presenting and explaining the company benefits offered to employees. I am a resource for various company policies and assist employees with benefit and payroll items. It's important to me to be of service to the employees and to be a trusted and knowledgeable resource for them.
I love spending time with my family and have a very soft spot when it comes to my grandchildren. I live on a farm and love playing with my two St Bernard dogs and riding horses. I enjoy the outdoors, gardening, camping, traveling and reading.
Being hired as part of a dedicated team who are in the process of getting the world's largest yogurt plant running and staffed with A+ people. I feel fortunate that my Idaho State University education and experience helped prepare me for my human resources role with a top rated international company.
Why I Do What I Do:
I love working with people and helping them. It's that simple. I like feeling like I made a difference in a positive way.
Words of Wisdom:
Keep learning. Become a lifelong learner. Keep growing. Look for growth opportunities through education. Be open to change and making sacrifices while you learn and grow. Don't be afraid to push yourself and step out of your comfort zone for that is when most of the learning takes place. Be your best self. We owe that to the people around us.
I remember one of the HR classes that I took from Dr. Croker where the students were required to give a presentation using the demonstration method. (My presentation was making my mother's favorite pineapple upside down cake). The main point was for the volunteers to learn from me step-by-step on making my cake. "Watch me then do". Doing this was not as simple as it sounds because if any step in the process is missed, the outcome will not be what it needs to be. I will always remember this method of teaching and how important it is in the learning process both in andout of the classroom.
My educational experience as a whole was positive and I am really glad I chose the HR degree at ISU! It took me over 6 years to get my degree because I worked full time and attended ISU part-time. The Twin Falls office was always friendly and helpful with my questions and the registration process. My professors really cared about me and wanted me to learn and succeed. The entire program was explained and laid out for me which helped me in knowing what classes to take and when. It was fun and interesting.
