Please use our GeneSifter Lab (formerly Finch) data management server to electronically submit your DNA sequencing or fragment analysis sample request http://idaho.genesifter.net/Finch/ Follow the steps in the links above (DNA SEQUENCING OR FRAGMENT ANALYSIS) to submit a sample request. If you are not a current GeneSifter Lab user, please use our GeneSifter Registration Form. If you are a past Finch user, you must create a new account in GeneSifter.
* GeneSifter Lab provides for sample submission and data retrieval for both FRAGMENT ANALYSIS and DNA SEQUENCING.
* SAFETY FORM - Mandatory for new GeneSifter users
Please include a hard copy of a completed Job Request Form with your sequencing or fragment analysis samples.
We provide a 24 hour turnaround time whenever possible. If we receive your samples on a normal weekday before noon (excluding Fridays and holidays), you should receive your data within 24 hours, depending on sample backlog and number of samples submitted. Instrument processing time for each "run" of 16 samples is approximately 2.5 hours.
DATA VIEWING AND ANALYSIS
Download the free sequence trace viewer and editor from Applied Biosystems. You may also download the freeware version of FinchTV from the Geospiza website. In addition, Sequencher software from Gene Codes Corporation is installed on a common use Macintosh G4 computer in the MRCF for sequence data analysis, and Gene Mapper software is available for Fragment Analysis data. If you are an off-campus researcher, download the free Peak Scanner software from Applied Biosystems to view and analyze your Fragment Analysis files.
