DNA Sequencing
$5.00/sample If you submit full (95 samples)
or half (47 samples) plates with the template and primer mixed together at
the required concentration. This will allow for one pGem control sample per
full or half plate.
$6.00/sample If you submit samples in groups of 16, as long as they’re in plates or 8-well strip tubes with the template and primer mixed together at the required concentration.
$7.00/sample If you submit fewer than 16 samples with the template and primer mixed together at the required concentration (0.5 ml tubes, 1.5 ml tubes, 8-well strip tubes, or plates).
Fragment Analysis
$2.00/sample If you submit samples in groups
of 16, as long as they’re in plates or 8-well strip tubes.
Includes size standard and processing on the 3130XL.
$2.50/sample If you submit fewer than 16 samples (0.5 ml tubes, 1.5 ml tubes, 8-well strip tubes, or plates). Includes size standard and processing on the 3130XL.
DNA sequencing services include sample preparation (cycle sequencing) using Applied Biosystems’ Big Dye Terminator chemistry, post cycle sequencing sample purification, and sample processing on our Applied Biosystems 3130XL Genetic Analyzer. After processing we upload data to our Geospiza Finch data management server, where you can view, download, and print the sequence information and/or original chromatograms. For additional information please see the Viewing and Downloading section under Sequencing Sample Submission. A copy of Sequencher DNA sequencing analysis software is available for your use on a Macintosh computer kiosk in the MRCF.
Fragment analysis services include post PCR sample preparation using the
appropriate size standard for your samples, and sample processing on our
Applied Biosystems 3130XL Genetic Analyzer. After processing we upload your
data to our Geospiza Finch server where you can download your data files.
At this time the files are only available for download; you are unable to
enter requests for sample processing or analyze your fragment analysis data
on the Finch server at this time. Please see Geospiza Finch Data Management
Server section under Sequence Sample Submission for downloading instructions.
A copy of GeneMapper software for data analysis is available for your use
on a PC computer kiosk in the MRCF.
COST STRUCTURE FOR USAGE OF MRCF SHARED INSTRUMENTATION
Fees provide service contract support and help to cover depreciation costs.
