The changes made by man on this once great river are discussed over motion pictures made from its point of origin in the Rockies to Mexico, where the last of its water disappears into sand about 20 miles inland from the sea. The vast lakes, gigantic dams, irrigation ditches, canals and Glen Canyon are all part of man's achievements. What each of these projects contributed to the fate of the river is pointed out.
