FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  1. Where is the application packet?
    -Online under "election timeline" or in the ASISU office.
  2. Do I HAVE to fill out the party information or be in a party to run for office?
    -NO, it is an option; simply do not fill it out if you are not running with a party.
  3. Where are rules for the elections?
    -The Election Code enumerates rules. The Election Timeline has specific building restrictions.
  4. What is "active campaigning" and when does it begin?
    -Active campaigning is essentially what it sounds like.
    Election Code:
    "10.3 Active Campaigning
    1. The term 'active campaigning' shall be defined as the distribution of campaign literature, the hanging of signs, holding campaign events, or similar campaign activities on campus."

    For Eligible Candidates, active campaigning begins immediately following the Candidates meeting March 6th.
  5. Where do I turn in the application?
    -In the ASISU office by 5 pm March 2nd.
  6. What is due, and when?
    -Everything (all filing applications, petitions, fees, etc.) is due March 2nd by 5pm in the ASISU office EXCEPT Party filing applications, and fees are due March 6th at the Candidates Meeting, or anytime prior to that in the ASISU office.
  7. The budget sheet is due March 2nd, what if I want to add to it?
    - Yes, the budget sheets are due on March 2nd. However, you can spend money on your campaign past that point, the budget sheet will remain in you candidate "folder" in the ASISU office. You are able to freely go in and add to your budget sheet throughout the campaign.
