Becoming a Candidate

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for choosing to become involved by running for ASISU office to represent Idaho State University students. Your tenure as a student representative will provide essential skills and abilities that will foster your own development as a professional in the workplace. The Elections Commission and I inform you that we are deeply committed to providing an unbiased and fair election. As you prepare for your campaign here are a few things to keep in mind:

The Candidate Packet and the ASISU Elections webpage are your go-to resources. They list important events and mandatory meetings. We encourage you to engage in creative and original campaigning techniques that will help maximize your exposure, as long as they follow election campaigning rules.

Become familiar with important documents such as the Candidate Packet, ASISU Constitution, Bylaws , and the Election Code , as well as general campaign restrictions for specific buildings and areas. You will be held accountable for this knowledge and will be expected to follow all rules outlined in these documents.Violations of campaign restrictions and guidelines will lead to deductions in a candidate’s return on deposit.

As Elections Commissioner, I want to make sure you have every resource available for your success. If you have questions, or want to review anything that is unclear, do not hesitate to email me.

Thank you,
Erika Cook
