ASISU General Elections
The 2008 ASISU General Elections will be held on MARCH 18th and 19th.
If you are experiencing problems voting, please call 282-3435 or email the election board.
All election information, including Election Guidebooks, will be available online. Candidates are required to attend a mandatory meeting on March 5, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. in the Wood River Room, PSUB.
Elected Positions Include: President and Vice-President (Combined Ticket), Idaho Falls Vice-President, Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences (6 Seats), Senator for the College of Health Professions (3 Seats), Senator for the College of Technology (3), Senator for the College of Business (2 Seats), Senator for the College of Education (2 Seats), Senator for the College of Graduate Studies (2 Seats), Senator for the College of Engineering (1 Seat), and Senator for the College of Pharmacy (1 Seat).
To Qualify candidates must be a member of the Association in Good Standing. Candidates must have minimum accumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
To be On the Ballot candidates are required to submit the six forms in the Election Guidebook and attend the Mandatory Meeting before their names will be placed on the ballot. The six forms are listed below:
- Voter signature list
- Signed applications
- $50 Deposit for Senate and IF Vice Presidential candidates and $100 for executive tickets
- Expense report
- Election rules test
- Online election information page (submitted to isu.elections@gmail.com).
All six items must be submitted to the ASISU office before the required deadlines.
Responsibilities: Senators must take a minimum of 8 credit hours, Vice-President must take a minimum of 6 credit hours, and the President must take a minimum of 3 credit hours during his or her term in office. All elected officials must attend orientation workshops, senate meetings, the end of the year banquet and the fall retreat. Officers will be required to attend weekly (senate or cabinet) meetings and committee meetings.
