Full-time graduate students will be provided with a semi-private studio space, based on availability. There are nine studio spaces in the Fine Arts building, and one large space that can accommodate up to four graduate students in the Ceramics building. Approximate size of each work area varies. Sizes range from 10' x 14' to 12' x 12'. Each space has four walls and a locking door (open ceiling). The ceramics area is approximately 20' x 32' for all four students. Wireless Internet is available in the Fine Arts Building.
In addition to the semi-private workspaces, a communal graduate area is provided where critiques and reviews are regularly held. Graduate Assistants have access to a room with two 27-inch Mac computers (including Adobe Creative Suite) and a printer. The John B. Davis Gallery is located on the first floor of the art building; this is where graduate thesis exhibitions and the annual group graduate exhibition occur. Located across the quad on campus, housed in the Pond Student Union Building, is the ISU Craft Shop. A woodshop equipped with a table saw, mitre saw, drill press, and general wood working tools is in the Craft Shop (for a semester fee).
