Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A)The MFA degree is the recognized terminal degree in the studio arts. The MFA program is designed to refine the visual art skills of the graduate student in a particular area or areas of concentration by providing the instruction, facilities and time for the student both to develop a significant body of studio work and to expand his or her intellectual horizons in preparation for a rewarding professional career.

ISU is a regional university with 14,500 students enrolled. The campus in Pocatello, Idaho is only a few hours drive from Salt Lake City, UT, Sun Valley, ID, Jackson Hole, WY, and Yellowstone National Park. Two contemporary earthworks, Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty and Nancy Holt's Sun Tunnels, are located just a few hours away by car. In addition to the outdoor recreational activities in the area, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (UMOCA) and the Boise Art Museum (BAM) are nearby as well.
