REMINDERS:
If you want to receive Veterans Educational Benefits, complete and submit your Veterans Educational Registration Form as soon as you pre-register for your classes. A Veterans Educational Registration Form will be emailed to your ISU email account after you have pre-registered for your classes for a semester, you can pick one up in our office or at the Student Services Office in Idaho Falls, you can download one under Resource Forms or one can be mailed to you upon your request. We also e-mail one to your ISU email account after you pre-register for your courses for the next semester.
You are responsibility to submit a Degree Plan (also called a Course Curriculum or Program of Study) to the Veterans Coordinator’s Office. The Degree Plan must include all the courses you are required to complete for your degree and major. The Degree Plan must be submitted to our office in order to certify you starting with Fall Semester 2007. Please help us comply with VA Educational Regulations and submit your plan TODAY.
The Degree Plan is to be completed by your advisor and must have the advisor’s signature and the date it is completed. This plan has a dual purpose since it is a guide for you to follow when you are pre-registering for courses and a guide for us to follow when we are certifying you for your Veterans Educational Benefits.
It is your responsibility to notify the Veteran's Coordinator of any changes
you make to your class schedule. If you drop or withdraw from a class or if you stop attending a class,
the VA may place you in an overpayment status. The VA charges the student for a change in enrollment status from the beginning of the
sememster no matter when you dropped, withdrew or stopped attending the class.
Monthly Veterans Educational Benefit rates increased on October 1, 2007. The rates are as follows:
| Full-Time | 3/4 Time | 1/2 Time | |

You receive your Veterans Educational Benefits on class attendance. If you stop attending a class and receive an unsatisfactory grade,
the Veterans Coordinator must report your non-attendance to the VA as reported to us by your professor. The VA will place you in an overpayment status
from the beginning of the semester for that course.
If you must stop attending a course, contact the Veterans Coorinator and inquire how it will affect your Veterans Educational Benefits. If you drop or withdraw from the course when you stop attending, it should put you in a small overpayment status. If you wait until the end of the semester when your professor reports your non-attendance, the overpayment could be a sizable amount.
Students receiving Chapter 30 and Chapter 1606 Veterans Educational Benefits are to verify their attendance on or after the last day
of each month. You can verify by calling 1-877-823-2378. You will be asked for your VA file number
(your social security number) and your password (your mailing zip code). You can also do an electronic verification at www.gibill.va.gov.
