Honors/High Honors Designation
Students must secure a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33 and be in the top 10% of their college's graduating class to be eligible for an honors designation.
Beginning Fall 2010, the cutoff GPA scores for the High Honors and Honors classifications are calculated by computing the top 5% and 10% groupings from among the students who have applied for graduation by the fall semester graduation application deadline (Friday of midterm week). The GPA used to determine honors designation is the ISU cummulative GPA.
Based on the pool of applicants for graduation at the fall semester application deadline (approximately October 15), the Office of the Registrar will establish the GPA cutoffs for high honors and honors for each college. These cutoffs will be used to place all students for December, May and August graduations.
