Fall 2009 Semester - Full Time Status and Fee Assessment Changes
The Idaho State Board of Education has made changes to full time status and fee assessment for undergraduate students.
- Full time status begins at 12 credits (previously 8 credits)
- Full Time fees will be charged beginning with 10 credits (previously 8 credits)
Implications for Financial Aid
- 6-8 credits are considered half-time
- 9-11 credits are considered 3/4 time
- 12 credits and more are considered full time
Some federal grants may be prorated based on a student's enrollment. Full loan amounts are available to students enrolled in 6 or more credits.
Students should contact the Financial Aid Office if they have questions about how their financial aid will be affected if they change their enrollment status.
Implications for Health Insurance
- Health insurance is required at 12 credits (previously required at 8 credits)
- Students may choose to purchase ISU insurance if enrolled in 10 or 11 credits for a premium.
- ISU Health insurance is NOT available to student enrolled in less than 10 credits (previously less than 8)
