Graduation Application

Application for graduation should be submitted one semester before all requirements are completed.

Deadlines

  • Graduation applications must be submitted no later than midterm of the semester in which a student plans to graduate.
  • Transfer Work
    • All pending transfer work must be reported to the ISU graduation staff in the Registration and Records Office.
    • Official transcripts with transfer work (including correspondence courses), must be received no later than four weeks after the date of graduation.
  • Incomplete Grades
    • All incomplete (I) or in-progress (IP) grades received in ISU courses must be cleared prior to posting of degrees.
    • Change of grade forms must be received in the Registration and Records Office no later than two weeks after the date of graduation.

For information on specific degree requirements, refer to the academic catalog from which you are completing your graduation requirements.

    Helpful Graduation Tips
  • Complete at least 128 total credits with a minimum of 36 upper division credits for a bachelor's degree
  • Know what general education requirements need to be fulfilled for your degree.
  • Understand requirements for your major and/or minor - talk to your advisor.
  • Check course content in order to avoid repeating previously taken courses.
  • Any deviations from university policy should be petitioned - get them in writing
  • and keep a copy for your records.

Resident Credit Requirements

  • Questions regarding ISU resident credit requirement - refer to academic catalog from which you are completing your graduation requirements.

Diplomas

    Graduation/Diploma Fee
  • All candidates for graduation are required to pay a $20.00 graduation/diploma fee per degree prior to the day of graduation.
  • University regulations require this fee be paid prior to mailing your diploma or releasing any transcripts you may order.

  • Paying in person?
    - Academic students contact the Registrar's Office
    - College of Technology students contact the Student Services Office
    Diploma Address
  • Diplomas will be mailed first class to the address indicated on the graduation application.
  • Notify graduation staff in the Registrar's Office of any change in your diploma mailing address.

Honors Designation

    High Honors/Honors
  • Students who secure minimum grade point averages of 3.33 and also are in the top 10% of their respective college's graduating class graduate with honors. Those in the top 5% graduate with high honors.
  • The base for high honors/honors designations will be determined from every May's graduating class to be applied to August and December graduations.
