Faculty Information
- All faculty are invited to attend commencement. Please notify the Commencement Committee at (208) 282-4225, if you plan to attend.
- Faculty should be at Holt Arena by 9:30 a.m. Line-up in the south hallway in preparation for the faculty processional.
- Commencement regalia is required.
- To order regalia contact Royal-T at 1-800-442-4696. Orders must be received by April 15, 2008
- The Commencement Committee will be pleased to pay for your cap and gown rental. Simply indicate to Royal-T that you are an ISU faculty member.
- Regalia must be picked up at Holt Arena during one of the following times:
- May 7 through May 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or
- on Commencement day, May 10 from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m.
- You are cordially invited to attend President & Dr. Laura Vailas's reception on the Holt Arena turf immediately following Commencement.

Schedule of Events
- March through Arch: Friday May 9, 2008 - 12:00 Noon, Gather on the Quad. For more information call 208-282-4798.
- Rehearsal: Friday, May 9, 2008 - 3:30 p.m. - Holt Arena
- Commencement Ceremony: Saturday, May 10, 2008 - 10:00 a.m. - Holt Arena
- Reception: Holt Arena, immediately following the ceremony
Cap, Gown, Hood, and Tassel Information
- All graduates who attend commencement must wear the appropriate regalia.
- Cap and gown orders are placed through Royal-T Papers, Inc., out of Vancouver Washington. Information packets will be mailed to all candidates the first part of Spring Semester. Representatives will be on campus to take orders in the Student Union foyer (by the information desk) March 5th & 6th from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m and on March 7th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Cap and gown distribution will be at Holt Arena May 7th, 8th & 9th - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and May 10th - 8 a.m. through commencement. Students keep the cap and tassel supplied with rental gown.
- Gowns are returned immediately after commencement.
- Undergraduate students wear the tassel on the right prior to graduation. Move it to the left when you are asked to.
- Graduate students wear the tassel on the left and do not change its position.
- Graduate students should carry hood on the left arm.
Processional lineup
- Candidates should be at Holt Arena on May 10, 2008 by 9:00 a.m. to begin processional lineup.
- Tell officials at the commencement table the name you requested on your diploma. You will then be given a lineup card
- As you cross the stage, you will hand your lineup card to the Institutional Reader who will announce your name.
Parking
- Parking will be available for all graduates and guests on the north side of Holt Arena, located at 15th Street and Memorial Drive.
Guest Seating
- Tickets are not required.
- Guests may be seated on both the north and south sides of Holt Arena.
- Seating will be first-come first seated.
Diploma Information
- Those who attend commencement are presented a diploma cover as they cross the stage.
- December graduates receive their diplomas approximately the end of March.
- May graduates receive their diplomas approximately the end of July. A final review of requirements must be completed prior to mailing diplomas.
- Check with Graduation Staff to be sure you have paid the $20.00 Graduation/Diploma Fee. This fee must be paid to prevent a hold on mailing your diploma.
- Transcript Order Information Be sure to designate on your transcript request that you wish the transcript sent after your degree has been posted.
- All diplomas will be mailed to the address indicated on the graduation application.
- Should your address change between date of graduation and July 1, 2008, contact Graduation Staff in the Office of Registration and Records at (208)282-3672.
Policy Statement
- It is the desire of the administration and the faculty of Idaho State University that the ceremony be conducted with courtesy and respect for each of the graduates.
- Graduates are reminded that alcoholic beverages are not permitted at commencement.

What if I haven't ordered my cap/gown?
- See Royal-T personnel at the above stated place and times or call them directly at 1-800-442-4696. No orders will be taken after April 15, 2008.
If my guests need assistance with seating, whom do I talk to?
- Contact Holt Arena at (208)282-2831 or go to the Special Needs tables on either side of the arena.
I'm not attending Commencement. How do I get my diploma?
- All diplomas are mailed at the end of July to the diploma address noted on the original graduation application. To update your address and/or to verify that the $20.00 graduation/diploma fee has been paid, call (208)282-4225.
