Animal Care Facility Fees
If you are currently funded under a grant you may stay at the current perdiems
mice = $.075
Rats= $.20
Rabbits = $.80
As of October 1, 2011 there will be an increase in the per diem rates at the animal facility.
The new rates will be
Mice = $.11
Rats = $.28
Rabbits = $.90
Frog room, other room rental = $2.00/day
Guinea pig $.70
Mink $.90
Unfortunately, because the rates at the facility have not been changed for quite a while and the actual cost is much higher than what we are charging, there will be a similar increase April 1, 2012
Mice = $.18
Rats = $.38
Rabbits = $1.05
Guinea Pig = $.85
Mink = $1.05
other rooms = $2.10
Rates will increase in a similar fashion again July 1, 2012 and possibly Jan 1, 2013 so that we can catch up to the actual cost of using the facility. I hope after that we can limit the increases to once a year on July 1.
Any proposals that you are submitting now should include the April 1, 2012 rates. If the project will start after July 1, 2012, increase the April 1 rates by 15%.
