The Animal Care Facility includes a main facility and various satellite locations providing suitable housing for a variety of small animal species. The Animal Care Facility is fully accredited by the non-profit organization known as AAALAC, meaning ISU has high standards for care, usage, security, and management of animals.
The Animal Facilities Manager (AFM) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Animal Care Facility and its staff. The AFM is the person to contact with questions or concerns about animal care operations, gaining access to the facility, requesting assistance in obtaining proper veterinary care, etc.
