Professional Achievement Awards
Overview
Each year, the ISU Office of Alumni Relations, in partnership with all colleges and divisions, present the Professional Achievement Awards to alumni of Idaho State University in recognition of significant professional achievement in a specific field or endeavor. These awards are conferred at Commencement.
Professional Achievement Awards are given each spring at Idaho State University's Commencement: College of Arts and Letters – Fine Arts & Humanities and Social & Behavioral Sciences, College of Science & Engineering – Natural & Physical Sciences and Engineering, College of Business, Division of Health Sciences, School of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Education and College of Technology. Individuals selected for the Professional Achievement Award must have been out of school at least 10 years.
Qualification
Each nominee is reviewed, evaluated, ranked and selected by members of the respective College's or department's selection committee. This committee is established by the Dean of each college/unit.
Factors considered when selecting a winner are:
- Professional achievement in nominee's field.
- Industry awards and special recognitions received.
- Significant success and or accomplishment by individual in chosen field.
Criteria and materials reviewed by selection committees includes:
- A completed nomination form.
- Three letters of support (One may be from the person making the nomination).
- A current resume for the candidate, OR other supporting materials such as newspaper articles, publications, or other pieces that speak to the candidate’s achievements within their profession.

Application deadline is January 18, 2013 to be considered for selection in 2013.
