The I Love ISU scholarship campaign has a rich history in Southeast Idaho. Originated in 1982 by business leaders with the goal of keeping Idaho's best students in Idaho communities, this campaign continues to support Bengal students through scholarship dollars.
The pioneers of the I Love ISU campaign, the Greater Pocatello Chamber of Commerce, understood the economic impact of an educated workforce and what it means to keep our local students in this great state. As a result, the campaign has grown into the most recognizable fundraising effort at Idaho State. I Love ISU now extends beyond our beautiful flagship campus and throughout Bengal nation with fundraising efforts in American Falls, Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Meridian and Pocatello. Money raised in each of these communities goes to the deserving students of these communities.
Thousands of students have benefited from the generous contributions of money and time. Over thirty years of contributions have brought our scholarship recipients full circle; many of our current callers are former scholarship recipients.
Each year, the I Love ISU campaign relies on a chair and co-chair to lead the charge in scholarship fundraising. This year, we are proud to promote Gary Black to the role of Chairman. Gary is the regional manager at H&R Block and is great asset to the scholarship campaign. Our 2013 co-chair is Idaho Power's Claudia Temmeling. Claudia is a veteran to the campaign, serving many years at the Idaho Power calling team captain. Gary and Claudia will give of their time, organizing teams, volunteers and events throughout their terms.
