ISU Alumni Association Establishes New Legacy Scholarship
In October 2006, the Alumni Relations Office with the approval of the Alumni Association Board of Directors established a new scholarship endowment. The Idaho State University Alumni Association Board of Directors Memorial Scholarship Endowment is designed to assist in providing an undergraduate student scholarship to a child, step child, grandchild, or child of a legal guardian that is an ISU graduate (defined as a person with a degree from Idaho State University).
This is a need based scholarship and requires the student to enroll or be enrolled as an undergraduate and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. The ISU Scholarship Office will qualify potential recipients based on the above criteria. The Scholarship Selection Committee in the Scholarship Office will then make the final selection. This office will provide the name of the recipient to the Office of Alumni Relations who, in turn, will notify the Board of Directors.
The amount of the award will depend on how quickly the endowment grows but it is anticipated the first award anticipated for the fall semester in 2008 will be $1,000. The award amount will be split equally between fall and spring semesters. The recipient chosen will receive the award for both semesters providing he/she continues to meet the criteria.
