If your intended major is Academic:
- Academic bachelor's degrees require a minimum of 120 ACADEMIC credits.
- Technology credits cannot be used toward an Academic major.
How do you know which of your transfer credits are Academic and which are Technology?
- Review your evaluated transfer transcript
- To find your evaluated transcript, log into BengalWeb
Choose the Academic Tools Tab - Go to Student Records Channel - Click on Academic Transcript link.
- To find your evaluated transcript, log into BengalWeb
- Click and Review the
Visual of a Transfer Evaluation in Bengal Web
to learn how to read your evaluated transcript.
- Course numbers that begin with a “0" (e.g. LAWE 01XX) are “technology” credits and not “academic” credits. Technology credits will not count toward an Academic major.
- Courses beginning with a number other than a “0”
” and include XXX (e.g. ENGL 1XXX or HE 2XXX) are Academic but are
not equivalent to an ISU class. These courses will be considered academic
electives.
- The number of elective credits needed for Academic majors varies greatly.
- You may petition to have an XXX (or XX) course be evaluated at ISU for possible equivalency to a course you need for your major or General Education requirement
- A petition will require at least a course description (and often a class syllabus in English if possible) from the transferring institution.
For possible degree options that may utilize your technology credits and thus require less time at ISU, email Ms. Irene Robinson, (robiiren@isu.edu), ISU College of Technology, for important details about the ISU Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) or Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees.
