Extra Credits
There is not a list of electives. Elective Credits are any college level courses that have not been used in the major or general education requirements of the degree. Elective credits can be from a variety of categories such as additional general education courses, additional courses from the major discipline, courses from other disciplines, or physical activity classes. The following Extra Credits are suggestions and recommendations for one and two credit courses that are generally considered to be electives.
| ACAD 101 | College Learning Strategies An eight-week course introducing techniques to assist students in academic success. Includes tips on: time management, improving memory, effective note taking, reading textbooks, test anxiety. |

| ACAD 102 | First Year Seminar A sixteen-week course provides students with comprehensive orientation to college life. Topics may include: goal-setting, learning styles, healthy lifestyles, critical thinking skills, and ISU resources. |

| ACAD 103 | Learning Strategies for Math An eight-week course emphasizing techniques to better learn math and address math anxiety. This class is most helpful when taken in conjunction with a math course. |

| ANTH/PAS 108 | Spanish for Health Care Providers A course that teaches basic conversation for individuals that are going in the Health Professions field. |

| HE/WS 160 | Rape Aggressions Defense: R.A.D. This is a comprehensive 8 week course for women only that begins with awareness, prevention, risk-reduction and avoidance, then progresses to basic hands-on defense training. |

| HE 190 | Alcohol and Drug Awareness I This class could change your perspective or reinforce your current healthy behaviors. This class is held on a weekend and is open to the general student. |

| HE 200 | Promoting Wellness A look at issues pertinent to all individuals. Emphasis is placed on making intelligent and informed decisions regarding individual health behaviors. |

| HE 270 | Peer Education, Part I. This is a performance-based class addressing issues such as suicide, substance abuse, rape, AIDS/HIV, and sexually transmitted diseases. Students are offered instruction on current issues, how to educate your peers, and opportunities for practical experience. |
