HCA g375 Health Care Law 3 credits. Principles governing application of contemporary law to health care organizations and personnel, standards of care, and liability for breach of care. Examines tort, contact, and statutory law related to health care delivery.
HCA g382 Health Services Organization and Delivery 3 credits. Principles of public health administration, programs, emerging trends, ecology, vital statistics, and control of disease. Some field trips to public health agencies.
HCA g383 Epidemiology 3 credits. Patterns of disease in populations, with special emphasis on the control of disease and the ecological forces and changes in social structures that influence the occurrence and distribution of disease.
HCA g401 Internship--Health Administration 8 credits. Exposure to administration of health facilities. Student completes 440 hours within a semester/summer term in approved health facility. Student must register in term internship is taken. PREREQ: SENIOR STANDING AND DEPARTMENTAL APPROVAL. GRADED S/U.
HCA g473 Health Marketing and Research 2 credits. Reviews current marketing trends in the rapidly changing health care marketplace. Includes consumer orientation, health care marketing techniques, research and information systems, marketing plans and strategy development. MKTG 325 recommended as preparatory course.
HCA g481 Independent Problems in Health Services Administration 1-3 credits. Student selects an area of special interest through independent study. A report will be required giving results. Repeatable for a maximum of 6 elective credits. PREREQ: PERMISSION OF INSTRUCTOR.
HCA g484 Health Care Personnel Administration 3 credits. Topics include EEO; job analysis and design; human resource planning; recruitment; selection; performance evaluation; compensation; benefits; orientation and training; labor relations; health and safety; and quality of work life.
