OTHER CHANGES

All of the following corrections (except those prefaced with New Change, which are not yet approved) are being made in the files that will become the NEXT year's catalog.

» = completed in 2010-11 HTML catalog;  »» = also completed in 2010-11 InDesign catalog

+ = Already Correct in print catalog, so correction has legally been made in 2009-10 HTML catalog

COURSE CHANGES (alphabetically and then in numerical order)

Regarding missing lab courses:

Biology has a list at the beginning of their courses in the catalog of courses that have a required laboratory section.  The associated lecture courses list the lab as a prerequisite, but there is no listing of the laboratory course in the catalog.  There are other departments that have also done this, notably Radiographic Science.  In HP, these courses are in the catalog system so we can build the required sections.

The Registrar’s Office requests the authority to create these courses in the Banner catalog system and request the necessary information from the departments to do so.  We would also recommend that these courses be added specifically to the course listings in the printed catalog.

New Change:  The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering wants to join its two prefixes into a single one:  CEE.  All CE and ENVE courses would be mingled into one CEE list. This change was requested a year or two ago, and was placed  "on hold" by the head of ITS, Randy Gaines, who says he doesn't believe anything has changed, but he is checking again.

»»CET 212 needs to have a semester code of F

»»CET 220 needs to have a semester code of S

»»CET 298 needs to have a semester code of D

Note, 15 September 2009:  GC 880  approved dropping CFS g500  so corollary proposal needs to drop CFS g400 or drop the g-label on g400.

»»COSM 116 needs a word added:  "...Classroom and lab will < be > integrated."

New Change:  CSED 250, 250L are offered during the FALL semesters, not spring.

New Change:  CSED 256 is offered during the SPRING semester, not fall.

»»The prereq for DANC 210 should be DANC 110, not 112.

New Change:  Educational Foundations wants to REMOVE the option of SPED 355 in the prereq statement for EDUC 309 Instructional Planning, Delivery, and Assessment.

»»ENGL g440 needs to say "Cross-listed as PHIL g440."

ENGR 264 has been removed from the HP database and from the catalog on the basis of assurances from the College that it had been dropped.  No proposal to drop it has been found, although a flurry of course and curriculum changes in spring and fall of 2006 removed it from prereq statements and curriculum lists. Some of these referred to the course as being "phased out."  Could it be made official this year?

New Changes: ENGR 105 through ENGR 496B:  Hossein Mousavinezhad says, "We changed most ENGR to EE EXCEPT: ENGR 496 A/B to change to EE 496 A/B."  I don't know if this means they WANT 496 A and B to be EE, or they DON'T want that prefix change for those two courses. I have seen no proposal to change ENGR prefixes to anything, but do know that ITS blocked a prefix change of all CE and ENVE courses to CEE.
