The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is home to Idaho State University's educational programs - Colleges and Departments, the Graduate School, ISU's libraries, and the Idaho Museum of Natural History. We also support Enrollment Management, the Early College Program, Distance Learning and Outreach, Office of Institutional Research, and the Center for Teaching and Learning. The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs shares responsibility for Information Technology Services with Finance and Administration.

The attached November 5, 2009 letter was provided to all ISU faculty and staff regarding the current state-mandated budget cuts and proposed Task Forces.

The attached October 28, 2009 letter was provided to all ISU Faculty concerning various topics discussed at the Academic Affairs Assembly plus the Town Hall Forums. Attached is the historical timeline of changes to the workload policy as well as a summary of the final changes.

Council of Deans

Council of Deans is comprised of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, the college deans, ISU-Boise dean, Idaho Falls-dean, Graduate School Dean, and the University Librarian/Dean. Meeting information is posted to http://www.isu.edu/acadaff/acadcoun/academiccouncil.shtml. This site requires a login/password and is accessible only by Council members.

 

Notice of Intent (NOI) Instructions and Information - Effective May 2008

Increased Personnel Action Scrutiny

Effective immediately, ISU will begin a process of increased personnel action scrutiny with the objective of ensuring whether it is essential that ISU move forward with any recommended personnel action at the time proposed.  The attached form (Personnel Action Scrutiny) must be completed. This process will apply to all personnel actions such as, but not limited to, creating new positions, reassignment of responsibilities that result in salary increase(s), filling new or vacant positions, position reclassifications and promotions, and non-routine salary increases.  This applies to all benefitted faculty and staff positions, including emergency hires.
