COURSE MATERIALS
Paul Zmolek was artistic director of Thick Dance/Theatre, Omulu Capoeira Sul and Callous Physical Theatre in San Francisco, Los Angeles and the Greater Seattle area respectively; creating collaborative works with internationally renowned masters of Capoeira, Flamenco, Kathak, Taiko, Congolese and Chinese dance as well as original, evening-length, interdisciplinary performance works. 

As a performer with Tandy Beal and Company, San Francisco Moving Company, June Watanabe Dance Company and other dance and theatre companies, highlights of his career include creating title roles for the world premiere of three ballets by Frank Zappa and performing in seminal works of Paul Taylor and Anna Sokolow. 

Recognized for his expertise in pedagogy and curriculum development, Paul has served as Theatre and Dance faculty at numerous universities throughout the United States. With extensive experience as an Artist-in-Schools, Paul was selected for inclusion in the Idaho Commission on the Arts, Arts Education Directory of Teaching Artists. Zmolek has produced award winning site-based performance festivals in Missouri and Washington.  Since relocating to Pocatello in 2008, Paul has worked with ISU Theatre and Dance, produced Headlines physical theatre works for First Friday Art Walk and Big Dance/Little Space at Old Town Actors Studio, participated in artist residencies in Italy and Finland and been exhibited in the International Contemporary Artist Exhibition in Assisi, Italy.
