William Henry Jackson: Mount Moran (1872)
After his sucessful 1871 expedition to Yellowstone, Ferdinand Hayden organized an exploratory trip to the Teton Range the following year.  Mount Moran, highlighted in this photograph by William Henry Jackson, was named after Thomas Moran, the painter, who had accompanied Hayden on the Yellowstone expedition.
